Hello, the Internet! :3
Allow me to introduce myself: My name is Matt, and as you can probably guess by the title of my blog... I am about to begin a risky chase. I am not running from the government, and I don't have anybody coming after me (I hope... :/). No. In the near future, I will begin to trek towards my lifelong aspiration: working for Walt Disney Animation Studios.
I will share a little bit about me: I am second-generation Army, through I am planning to get out after my initial term (my Dad is a retired SFC). I have a wife of 3 years named Laura, and our little family consists of 2 cats and a lizard. I have always wanted to become an animator since I discovered that I had a talent for drawing in the 3rd grade. I created my first original cartoon character 2 years later and I have since refined and perfected his look and character, along with my talent, while expanding my library of 'toons.
My hope for this blog is... multifaceted, really. First and foremost, I want to share my dream, and progress towards, through this challenging transition. Second, I want to send a message to everyone (especially all of my fellow Service Members out there) that if you have a dream, you can achieve it with enough planning and hard work. Third, I thought it would be nifty to give all the people I care about access to where I am every step of the way, in a way that Facebook could not achieve.
All of this being said, I am looking forward to getting the ball rolling on this blog :D I will be making improvements to the look of the blog, along with photos and other fun things! I hope I can garter... a little bit of a following, at least (ha ha), seeing as this would be my very first actual blog.
Thanks for reading and I promise I won't neglect my blog! I've been thinking about this for quite some time.
i've been thinking of starting up a blog myself... i just don't want it to turn into myspace where no one reads it, and all i feel like i'm doing is complaining/bragging about my life. lol

ReplyDeleteMy name is Pat and I have just created a blog recently. It seems like you have passion towards your writing based off of the first post. Since we really have started this whole blogging thing together, I think we should help each other out. My blog is www.ijsports.blogspot.com I guess you would say it's not much of a blog but a sports website. I am working on it a lot and really want to become a computer engineer in the website business so like a computer programmer. Thanks for your service. One tip, you should add some pictures of your drawing. Scan them into your computer and upload them to like a site like this www.imageshack.us I would recommend putting some of your work out there so people know you are serious. Hopefully we can team up together and get our blogs known. Please give me some advice on my site as well if you could. btw I followed your blog :)

I saw your talent long before you were in the 3rd grade. When you were just about 4 or 5 years old and drawing all of your favorite cartoon characters perfectly -- from memory!
